European cyber tech firm Filigran has recently closed a $35 million Series B funding round<\/a>, led by software investor Insight Partners, joining existing backers Accel and Moonfire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The funding round follows Filigran\u2019s US$16 million Series A investment just a few months ago, and will aid the company\u2019s growth, expansion, and product development. The Series B funding will support the company’s plans to expand in the US and Pacific regions, and specifically, advance AI and data engineering product development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Filigran was founded in 2022, and offers open-source platforms like OpenCTI and OpenBAS in its eXtended Threat Management (XTM) suite. The platform is designed to help organisations better understand their threat landscape, detect incidents, reduce response times, and develop long-term cybersecurity strategies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Filigran\u2019s solutions are used by international corporations that include Airbus, Marriott, Thales, Herm\u00e8s, Rivian, and Bouygues Telecom. Public sector organisations on the company’s roster include the European Commission, the FBI, the New York City Cyber Command, US and Australian federal agencies, the Netherlands National Police Corps, and several European government ministries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The company\u2019s open-source efforts are supported by a community of over 4,300 cybersecurity professionals and contributors. The XTM suite integrates OpenCTI, which structures and operationalises threat intelligence. Similarly, OpenBAS uses real-time threat data for security validation. The platforms provide a view of potential risks to help organisations strengthen their cybersecurity measures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The funding will aid development of further XTM solutions aimed at enhancing the suite with threat-driven risk assessment and deception to address new cybersecurity challenges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Samuel Hassine, Filigran\u2019s CEO, has over 15 years’ of experience in cyber threat intelligence and crisis management, and had prior roles as Director of Security Strategy at Tanium and Head of Threat and Risk Analysis at ANSSI. CTO Julien Richard has over 20 years’ of experience managing engineering teams and software development. He was Vice-President of Engineering at YOOI and Director of Engineering at Axway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSecuring this Series B investment reflects the progress Filigran has made in a short time. Our mission is to make threat intelligence accessible and actionable for organisations. This new funding will help us continue that mission at a larger scale,\u201d said Hassine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cFiligran has shifted how security teams approach threat intelligence with their open-source XTM suite, powered by OpenCTI and OpenBAS. This investment supports their global expansion and product development,\u201d said Crissy Costa Behrens, Principal at Insight Partners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
